Baber Law has launched a new project: ChargedCT.com, a free resource for Connecticut residents who have just been arrested or charged with a crime.

Most people facing a criminal charge for the first time have the same questions, and they’re usually searching for answers at night, on a phone, shortly after the arrest. Where will my case be heard? What happens at the first court date? Do I need to post bond? What should I not do before I talk to a lawyer?

ChargedCT answers those questions in plain English, specific to Connecticut. The site covers every Geographical Area criminal court in the Hartford, Tolland, Middlesex, New London, and Windham County regions, with pages for each court and each of the 87 towns they serve, including where your case goes based on the town where the arrest happened, who polices each town, and what to expect at arraignment. It also explains common charges like DUI, assault, domestic violence, drug possession, and shoplifting, and walks through the process from arrest through arraignment, protective orders, diversionary programs, and record erasure.
